SEAD is an acronym for Social, Emotional, Athletic Development. With a strong focus on play, fun and making friends, this age specific program has curriculum based around child development. Experienced instructors and parents work together to progress the childs’ social, emotional and physical skills. The toddlers will experience a fun play setting, continuing to learn basic skills that will allow foster continued growth.
Chicago Rec Sports is very excited to partner with Buddha Belly Kids Yoga, to bring a high quality child development program to our community. Buddha Belly Kids Yoga is a mobile yoga & mindfulness company founded by educators and dedicated to nurturing kids’ innate desire for movement and play! BBKY aims to integrate yoga, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning strategies to support the whole child, from head to toe! BBKY explores yoga through poses, movement, and relaxation while encouraging creativity and fun! Our classes balance both structure and spontaneity as we honor each individual's energy. The most unique thing about BBKY is that they are educators; it's kids first, then yoga. BBKY brings a fierce passion for developing a brave, safe space for children. They believe in play-based education, while incorporating traditional yoga poses, sequences, and relaxation techniques... providing a medium for children and families to bond, express themselves, and have fun!
Boys and Girls

This program engages kids in important stages of Social Emotional Athletic Development. More specifically, music experiences in early childhood can accelerate brain development. Children think with their bodies well before they think with their words. When movement matches music, it helps our body + mind work together, learn sounds + meanings of words, strengthen memory skills, and experience joy. In this program, Toddlers will play with music, navigate their feelings, practice mindfulness, and move with purpose. Built through a child development lens, each class includes a warm-up, songs complete with yoga poses, breath work, a balancing series, and relaxation.
