Scholarships
Each season, Chicago Rec Sports aims to provide resources and financial support to those in need. The number of scholarships available and the amounts of each scholarship vary from season to season. Applications for our 2023 spring season scholarships are open. Please choose from our scholarship options below. Select the scholarship option that best fits your needs.
Parent Coach Scholarship
This scholarship allows a parent to become a CRS Volunteer Coach for a season in exchange for a child of their choice, age two to thirteen to play for the season at no cost.
Scholarship requires:
- Parent Coach to complete CRS Training and Screening
- Parent Coach will be on time and attend all practicing games
- Parent Coach will follow CRS curriculum
- Parent will wear CRS Coach shirt to all practicing games (shirt provided)
- Parent Coach will attend end of season Participation Awards
SPF Camp Scholarship
This scholarship allows a child from age five to thirteen to participate in a full week of SPF Day Camp during the summer or holiday breaks. Camp fosters a strong self-identity, individual expression, teamwork, and genuine respect for others.
Scholarship includes
- One Week of Full Day Camp Registration fees
- Trained Coach Mentors
- S.E.A.D Curriculum (Social, Emotional, Athletic, Development)
- Multi-sport, hands on experiences and educational activities
- Participation Award
T.E.A.L Scholarship
This scholarship is a yearlong program that allows a teen from age fourteen to nineteen to develop life
and leadership skills through mentorships and training. Teens develop work etiquette in addition to
social and emotional learning which prepares them for college and future opportunities.
Scholarship includes:
- Annual Membership Dues and Gear
- Coach Mentor Training
- Brand Ambassador Training
- Community Service Hours
- Enhancement of College Applications
- Wages Where Applicable
All Kids Play Scholarship
You can apply for the Youth Sports Grant:
All Kids Play Grant funds can be used towards applicable CRS multisport programs for children ages 2-13 years
Scholarship Grant includes:
- Season Registration Fees and Jersey
- Trained Coach Mentors
- S.E.A.D Curriculum (Social, Emotional, Athletic, Development)
- Practice and Games
- Participation Award
Every Kid Sports Pass Scholarship
You can apply for the Sports Pass as long as:
- Your child is between the ages of 4-18 years
- Your child is currently enrolled in Medicaid,SNAP or WIC (proof required during the application process)
- The sport you are applying for is recreational, not elite or travel (CRS meets this requirement)
- The sports season lasts at least 4 weeks (CRS meets this requirement)
